Who we are

American Tool Supply was founded by Ray Fontaine, the late Ken Jamrog, Rich Duplessie, and Jay Bath in 1983. However, our roots go back to the late 1960s, when Fontaine and Jamrog established our sister company, American Specialty Grinding, which provides special-make tools and re-sharpening services. As ASG grew, the founders realized that their customers had requirements for new and used cutting tools as well. Hence, Fontaine and Jamrog joined forces with Duplessie and Bath and started American Tool Supply to meet and better serve the needs of their customer base.

Today, American Tool Supply, in association with American Specialty Grinding, has evolved into a fast-growing powerhouse of top-notch inventory and high caliber technical support services. We serve a cross section of the market place, including the aerospace, automotive, medical, semi-conductor, military, and general manufacturing sectors, as well as machine and mold shops. In addition, our in-house engineering department custom designs tools to meet every requirement.

Expanding to serve you better

American Tool Supply has expanded since our inception to serve all of New England and major portions of the East Coast. We started out in Chicopee, Massachusetts, where we are headquartered today. In 1995, we opened a branch in Connecticut and in 1999, added another branch in New Hampshire. The July 2005 opening of our new facilities in North Carolina allows us to better serve our expanding mid-Atlantic customer base. In February 2008, headquarters moved to a new 15,000+ square foot facility located at 850 Sheridan Street, Chicopee, MA.
